I research the history of science and technology using digital methods. My PhD thesis explores how scientific practitioners collaborated in the past, and how we can trace their knowledge exchange with the help of digital tools today. As part of my research I’ve been running a web-based citizen science project since April 2019, Worlds of Wonder, which aims to make historical illustrations searchable. This project has attracted some 2,300 contributors.

With a background in writing and journalism, I know how to tell engaging stories of the past and today. I enjoy working as a science communicator by writing for blogs and giving public talks about the (digital) history of science and technology.

I hold a BA in Creative Writing and Journalism (Universität Hildesheim) and an MScRes in Cultures of Arts, Science and Technology (Maastricht University). I currently pursue a PhD at Maastricht University’s Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
